New Zealand concern about cognitive tests

There is concern in New Zealand that some cognitive tests used to screen fitness to drive are not accurate predictors of driving performance and do not appear related to driving (i.e. do not have face validity). See: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/515659/cognitive-tests-to-assess-driver-impairment-called-into-question

Unlike the tests discussed in the article, DriveSafe DriveAware (DSDA) has high face validity and has sufficient evidence of high predictive validity (over 88%) for determining fitness to drive.

DSDA is used by many Occupational Therapy Driving Assessors in New Zealand to determine cognitive fitness to drive for these reasons.
